 The Ismaili wedding ceremonies last about 4 days and everything is showered with flower petals.  The colourful glitter is added to the mehndi design solely for picture purposes.  Something like this:  Shyna, the bride's sister is bringing holy water from jamatkhana:  In order to maintain the purity of the water, she's not allowed to speak or even smile before she hands the gari over to the bride's mother:  Not such an easy task because she wants hard cash in exchange:   During the Mandhvo, four uncles bring pineapples to the bride's house and place them in the four corners of the room. Farah & Rahim - Ismaili Wedding at the Sheraton Cavalier

Farah: "On our first date, he showed up an hour late, and our first stop was a gas station; only to realize he forgot his wallet! Needless to say, it was no ordinary first date. I knew there was something special about Rahim from that very first moment... and the adventure hasn't stopped since. Ruth & Marco - Beach Wedding in Tuscany, Italy

Ruth told me years ago that whenever she would get married I was going to be her photographer. She even chose her wedding date according to my busy traveling schedule. Things worked out just fine and I find myself on the shores of the Ligurian Sea, in Viareggio, Tuscany, ready to shoot my first wedding in Italy. A message for Marco:"Today there are 316 days since I love you."
