Gagan & Harnav Bir - Khalsa Wedding in Punjab, India
Gagan & Harnav are two very loved marriage photographers from Punjab and to say it was an honour to be the one who captured their wedding, it would be an understatement.
I start my day with the bride to be, at the Best Western in Jalandhar.
She can definitely tie her own turban, but I need some help myself. Luckily, Manu, Gagan's brother, is here and he makes some time for me:
Gagan doesn't wear makeup normally, but she's being persuaded for the sake of the pictures:
Meanwhile, in Ludhiana, at the groom's home:
Onkar Hayer, my second shooter, is spending the morning with Harnav Bir and his friends.
He doesn't like make up, either:
It's a long and busy road to Jalandhar, so it's time to move:
Everybody makes it on time:
The milni couldn't be more colourful:
There's one obstacle in Harnav's way:
Nothing that can't be taken care of with a little gift:
Unexpected delicacies in the langar, for breakfast:
The Ceremony of Bliss has to take place before noon:
The gurdwara proves to be very small for such a grand event:
Bhai Baldeep Singh Ji entertains everyone for a while.
Congratulations are in order:
And then the photo shoot, but not before the customary 'grelfie' (name is totally my idea) - group selfie:
Some more group pictures.
Gagan is already getting used to the married life:
I'm trying to recruit some talent for the next shot:
With not much success:
I'm not sure, but I think everybody in this picture is a photographer:
The sun has set and we have to drive back to Ludhiana, so Gagan is saying goodbye to her family:
It's completely dark by the time we make it back to Harnav's home:
Still, nobody is tired yet:
The joyous welcome couldn't be more ... welcoming:
That's a proud and happy mom:
One more playful game and Harnav seals the deal:
The next day we're getting ready at the Hyatt Regency Ludhiana for the party:
It's the first time for me when the bride and groom are dastaring together:
A few more portraits before the reception at the Radisson Blu:
The Bhangra takes over:
Congratulations one more time, Gagan & Harnav! Thank you so much for inviting me to India, to be a part of the celebrations!
