Gurpreet & Manny - Punjabi Wedding in Edmonton
Manny: "The first time I saw Gug was back in grade 8, and I remember glancing over at her and thinking “wow”. I asked her out in grade 10 and that is when our journey began. For our first date I took her to KFC inside Southgate Mall. It was not the most romantic place but it was the best first date ever. Gug is my best friend and the one person I can count on the most, I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her."
Gug: "I met Manny 13 years ago and at that time we were just two people who got introduced to each other and became friends. Two years later, in September 2003, both of us enrolled in the same high school and because I saw him every day, I developed a huge crush on him even though he had that weird puberty moustache. I had told my cousin Jas that I started to like him and, without even asking me, she set up our first date!"...
"Looking back now, how thankful I am that my cousin was so persistent and determined to turn my friendship with Manny into something special. And here we are today, Manny was my friend, best friend, boyfriend, fiancé and now my husband! Such a wonderful feeling when I get to tell people we are high school sweethearts still going strong!"
There's always an uncle that makes sure I have enough challenges:
Time to celebrate, but there's no more champagne:
Because it just went on my camera:
Manny definitely travels in style:
Gug's family keeps the boys at the door with some tricky questions:
There's an answer for any question:
Time to say goodbye:
Manny brings his new wife home, but there are a few more obstacles in his way, starting with young Gandalf here:
Then, his mom stops them at the door for a welcoming ritual:
Followed by a barricade of his sisters who want money in exchange for free passage:
Almost there. Now Parry wants his commission to allow Gug in his family:
Finally, everybody dances:
Fresh look for the reception, the next day:
I like the original idea of a guest signing book:
It's a huge inflatable ball, full of love:
Capilano Conference Centre is ready for guests:
Shammi - the king of selfies:
Let the party begin:
Congratulations one more time, Gug and Manny! Thank you so much for an awesome week!
