Jessica & Jat - Sikh Wedding in Waikiki Beach, Hawaii
There's a wild celebration about to happen in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and even the US Coast Guard would like to participate:
The suites at the Royal Hawaiian are quite spacious, but we still need 2 of them for the pugh tying procedure:
Jessica: "So, it was May 2015 – Jat and I had plans for shopping but instead we ended up at the Farmer’s Market on Whyte Ave to see what the excitement about the Farmers Market was. Towards the exit – Jat planned for a caricature artist to meet us there and draw us. The artist said he was going to make us look like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – which I was so excited to see! When he was finally finished – he handed the drawing to me – and it had Jat – down on one knee – popping the question “Will you marry me?” I for one didn’t even realize that it had said that – I was wondering why we weren’t turtles.
Ewen is not always in my shot. Sometimes it's just his camera:
It's not every day that you get ready for your wedding watching the Waikiki Beach:
Sunita Sumaru came all the way from Edmonton to make sure Jessica looks her best on this joyous occasion:
Jat: "I first met Jessica while I was out with some friends. The night was a bit of a blur, but the next day the one thing I definitely remembered was Jessica! Months went by before we actually went out for the first time. But once we went out that one time, we began to talk more and spend more time together. It seems crazy that someone can go from once being a complete stranger, to being that person you cannot live without. And that’s exactly what’s happened with us. We’ve already created so many great memories and I cannot wait for what the future holds for us!"
If the rose petals in milk are not enough of a clue, the bangles and the kalire should announce the next ritual:
Choora goes through a few hands before it's final destination on the bride's arms:
The front lawn of the resort welcomes team JJ:
The two families greet each other during a short milni:
Everybody finds their spot under the cloudy skies of Oahu.
Lucky petals that shower over the bride when she makes her entrance:
Jat is the only one not allowed to look at his soon to be wife walking in:
Anand Karaj on Waikiki Beach, with Diamond Head in the distance. This is what a 'dream come true' looks like:
The flower girl instincts kick in late, towards the end of the cermony:
Not sure why Jessica has to show Jat where to sign, but she sure does:
Fortunately, the Ceremony of Bliss is over before rain finally comes:
We could go for a photo shoot, but the groom needs his shoes.
In a slick move, he gets everything he wants:
There are more petals flying during the doli:
One family says goodbye and the other one says welcome, just a few feet away:
When in Hawaii...
Daylight gives way to the cocktail hour:
After a close shave and different makeup, the newest couple on the Island of Oahu looks fresh:
The Monarch Room at Royal Hawaiian is the best place for what's about to come:
Little wooden hearts make the cutest guest book:
The newlyweds have lots of hardcore fans in the house:
Cake tasting - check:
Speeches - check:
Toasts - check:
Bollywood dance performance - check:
First dance - check:
Time for DJ Palay to take over:
Aloha bhangra - check:
It's simply awesome to party again with previous brides and grooms.
It's rather impossible not to feel like a rockstar.
Congratulations one more time, Jessica and Jat! Can't thank you enough for this amazing Hawaiian celebration. Mahalo!

After a few seconds, I noticed Jat – down on one knee, asking the very same question!"
For even more space, we move outside on the terrace:Ewen is not always in my shot. Sometimes it's just his camera:
