Popular Picture of the Day or What Not to Do with MY Wedding Photography

When it comes to photography, while not all my ideas are original, I’ve always put a lot of effort, hours and days of location scouting, brainstorming and passion into creating unique images:
 That’s probably the reason I can’t escape a feeling of satisfaction when it comes to my work and calling my pictures ‘my pictures’.

But, apparently, there are others who are proud to call my pictures ‘their pictures’. I actually lost count of how many times that happened in the past. However, every now and then there are some photographers who actually advertise their businesses with my photos:
Kijiji, Facebook or billboards in India, they are all fair game. Well, not really fair.
The funny thing about these last two is that I found out about them in the same day. The not so funny thing is that my images are just one of the many they stole and are advertising with. I’m not going to draw it for you, but you should be able to guess what the consequences could be if you happen to book them for your special day.
I’ll settle down with another 'funny thing’: I didn’t contact these photographers for the simple reason that I’m not skilled enough to deal with situations like this.

Farah & Rahim - Ismaili Wedding at the Sheraton Cavalier

Farah: "On our first date, he showed up an hour late, and our first stop was a gas station; only to realize he forgot his wallet! Needless to say, it was no ordinary first date. Ruppy & Indy - Punjabi Wedding at the Magnolia in Calgary

This year I had more weddings in Calgary than Edmonton, and the Ramada has become one of my second homes. But this is not about that. This is about a Punjabi love story filled with emotions, hunting trophies and party light sticks. It starts as expected, with the bride getting ready at her home. Before anyone else, she makes her way inside the gurdwara, where she'll go into hiding for a couple of hours or so, waiting for everyone else to come.
